Job description

FLSD Officer

We are excited to announce that we are looking to hire for openings for FLSD Officers in NY (Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and Far Rockaway) to join our dynamic team!

We are seeking dedicated FLSD Officers to ensure safety and security at multiple locations throughout the 5 boroughs. The primary responsibility of the FLSD Officer will be to uphold a safe environment by implementing effective access control measures and ensuring that all areas remain clear and accessible. This role requires excellent verbal de-escalation skills to calmly address and resolve conflicts that may arise during duty hours, as well as the prompt reporting of any unusual incidents to maintain order.

Ideal candidates should possess at least one year of experience working in a shelter facility and hold a valid CPR/First Aid certification. Additionally, a willingness to undergo training in de-escalation techniques, critical thinking, and teamwork is essential for success in this position. We are looking for individuals who can contribute to a positive atmosphere while vigilantly safeguarding the well-being of all occupants. Please note that this position requires the ability to stand or conduct patrols.

Requirements:

  • Valid NYS Security License
  • Valid CPR/ First aid certification
  • T89/F89 Certification 
  • Supervisory experience
  • Willing to complete DHS 40hr Training (LL124 Requirement)
  • Narcan Training
  • Other site-specific training 
  • Knowledge of Fire Panel Systems a MUST

Key Skills:

  • Strong leadership and composure under pressure. 
  • Knowledge of fire alarm systems, evacuation procedures, and emergency action plans. 
  • Ability to train and coordinate with building staff and emergency responders. 
  • Proficiency in NFPA 1082 and NYC fire codes. 
  • Willingness to learn

Part-time & Full-time positions available

Compensation:

Hourly rate: $28 hourly + Prevailing wage (up to 40hrs)

Compensation for this role is determined by position title and location. The pay rates are fixed and not subject to negotiation.
