Position Description About Harris County and Universal Services: Harris County Universal Services (Universal Services) is transforming the way the County does business and seeking a Fuel Coordinator to join our team. Universal Services is the enterprise IT solutions center for the departments and offices of Harris County, providing Information Technology, Public Safety and Justice Technologies, 311 Constituent Engagement Services, Fleet Services, and Records and Information Governance Services. Harris County Commissioners Court, the County's governing body, directs a budget of more than $4 billion providing essential services including flood control, infrastructure, healthcare, housing, and justice administration. This is a great time to join Universal Services as we enhance critical services to Harris County residents and internal customers. Position Overview: The Fuel Coordinator II provides essential support for ensuring county fuel stations operate smoothly, with a primary focus on customer service.

This role supports compliance efforts, assists with troubleshooting fuel-related issues, and provides customer support for various county agencies. Working under the supervision of the Fuel Manager, the Fuel Coordinator II will assist in maintaining TCEQ and EPA compliance and managing daily fuel system operations. The role is focused on compliance, monitoring, troubleshooting, with the remaining time dedicated to assisting with customer service and reporting activities.

Job Responsibilities: Compliance and Inspections: Ensure all PST systems comply with applicable TCEQ and EPA requirements. Perform daily reconciliation for tank systems requiring leak detection. Conduct inspections and check stations for issues that may result in a reportable incident.

Liaise with vendors to ensure required testing is performed on time. Post Delivery Certificates annually and pull necessary reports to demonstrate compliance. Produce required documentation when requested by TCEQ.

Be present for TCEQ inspections and respond to fuel issues 24/7, especially during disasters. Troubleshooting and Repairs: Troubleshoot and repair dispensers, card readers, tank monitors, and other fuel station equipment. Repair or replace any damaged or malfunctioning hardware (hoses, nozzles, breakaways, swivels, filters).

Investigate and correct problems with fuel transactions and exceptions. Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor fuel stations and levels regularly during disasters. Provide status reports to management for county-wide distribution.

Maintain regular communication with fuel vendors to ensure adequate fuel availability. Validate weekly fuel pricing and input into in-house fueling system. Prepare Off-Road and Inventory reports.

Import Fuel Data to our Fuel and Fleet Management System Send Updated EZ Tag lists to HCTRA. Coordinate license plate pick up for old license plates and email list to TxDMV Deactivate fuel cards and EZ Tags for auctioned vehicles Customer Support: Issue and deactivate fuel PINs and cards as requested by customers. Liaise with customer departments, vendors, and partner agencies as needed.

Prepare fuel orders as needed and handle customer inquiries. Update EZ Tag spreadsheet as new EZ Tags are issued and deleted Process in registrations and new plates, then disperse to liaisons. For new vehicles, enter license plate, EZ Tag, and Fuel card into Fleet Management System Research Toll violations.

Requirements Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: Experience performing mechanical inspections and troubleshooting of operational failures in a field service environment. Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues using inspection findings, performance data, and standard repair procedures.

1 Year of Customer Service Experience in Any Field Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word. Licensure: Possess a Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Must have the ability to work well with others in a diverse and high-volume environment.

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must move with a purpose in a high-volume environment. Must have the ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments Must maintain a professional appearance and manner.

Must maintain a clean work space. General Information Location: 2505 Texas, Houston, TX 77003 Work Arrangement: Onsite 5 days/week Work Environment: May be exposed to dust, dirt, fumes, etc. May be asked to work outdoors in elements such as hot, cold, and rain.

Physical Demands: Some duties would require the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and bending & standing for periods at a time. Travel to other Fleet locations within Harris County may be required. Hours: Forty (40) hours per week.

Onsite position Monday - Friday Salary: Commensurate with experience. Based on 26 pay periods. Employment may be contingent on passing a drug screen and meeting other standards.
