Job description

Position Summary

The Front End Lead oversees the store's front-of-house operations, including cashiering, customer service, checkout efficiency, cash handling, and janitorial tasks. This role ensures a positive shopping experience by maintaining excellent customer service standards, optimizing staffing and scheduling, ensuring that common areas are clean and sanitary, and overseeing accurate cash handling processes. As a Manager on Duty (MOD), this position plays a uniquely important role in the overall success of the store.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support front end team members, including scheduling, training, coaching, and performance management. 
  • Monitor - and address - team productivity to streamline the customer experience through fast, friendly, and accurate checkouts.
  • Train, coach, and evaluate staff to maintain high performance and customer service standards.
  • Handle customer concerns, complaints, and service recovery professionally and efficiently.
  • Manage the cash handling operations of the store, including making bank deposits and setting up tills.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and merchandising standards in checkout and entrance areas.
  • Resolve operational issues quickly to maintain service levels.
  • Analyze daily and weekly reports to identify opportunities and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with store leadership to support overall store operations and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Serve as ManageronDuty (MOD) as needed.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience, including cash handling/management.
  • Basic computer, POS, and cash management knowledge
  • Strong understanding of store operations, merchandising, inventory management, and labor planning
  • Proven ability to lead teams, coach performance, and build a positive culture
  • Strong problemsolving skills with the ability to make quick, effective decisions
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time; bend, and lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in varying temperature environments (coolers, freezers, kitchens)
