These roles can include administrative, project management, IT, and support positions that do not require onsite presence. Job description

About BoxStar
BoxStar Movers is a locally owned and operated moving company founded in Arlington, VA in 2020. Built on a foundation of fellowship, integrity, and respect, we've grown into the #1 rated residential moving company in Northern Virginia. We serve Northern Virginia, Washington D.C., and Maryland — handling local and long-distance residential moves, office relocations, specialty moves including pianos, fine art, antiques, and gun safes, packing and unpacking services, and secure short and long-term storage. Our team of dedicated professionals operates across the entire DMV area. We are a growing company built on high standards, continuous improvement, and a shared commitment to being the best in the business. Everyone who joins BoxStar is joining a team that takes pride in their work, invests in each other's growth, and is focused on building something that lasts.

Positions Available
We are currently hiring for all roles:

Mover
& Moving Foreman / Driver

Responsibilities:
All crew members are expected to report to the yard each morning, complete their daily checklist, and confirm that their assigned truck and equipment are ready before departure. Day to day you will load, transport, and unload furniture, appliances, boxes, and specialty items with care and efficiency.
You will properly wrap, pad, and protect all items using moving blankets, stretch wrap, and mattress bags. All entry doors, floors and carpets at every job site will be protected using floor runners and carpet protectors before any work begins. You will also disassemble and reassemble furniture as needed at pickup and delivery locations. Specialty items including pianos, gun safes, fine art, antiques, and large appliances are handled with the appropriate equipment, padding, and technique. Every crew member is expected to represent BoxStar professionally in every client's home or office and complete their Evening Checklist at the end of each day — returning tools, securing the truck, and reporting any issues to dispatch.

Foremen/Drivers are additionally responsible for leading their assigned crew from yard departure through job completion, serving as the primary point of contact with the client on-site, conducting the truck walk-around before departure, and completing job closeout through our CRM.

Foreman/Drivers are additionally responsible for logging into the driver app each morning and assigning themselves to their designated truck, operating BoxStar moving trucks safely across the DMV area in accordance with all driver safety protocols, ensuring the truck is properly loaded, balanced, and secured before every departure, and unassigning themselves from the truck and securing all doors, windows, cargo area, and trailer at the end of each day.

What We're Looking For
Across all three roles the most important qualities are the same — a strong work ethic, a coachable attitude, and the reliability to show up ready every day. We hire for character and train for skill. Candidates should be physically capable of lifting 100+ lbs repeatedly, professional in client-facing environments, and able to take direction and communicate issues promptly. Prior moving experience is preferred for foreman roles but is not required for mover positions. The Foreman/Driver role requires a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and experience operating box trucks with medical card assigned by VDOT.

Training & Growth
Every new hire completes a paid two-week training period covering BoxStar's operating procedures, checklist protocols, equipment and materials, client interaction standards, and dispatch communication. Foremen will also be trained on crew management and job closeout. Foreman/Drivers will complete a supervised drive assessment on our fleet during training.

At BoxStar, the path forward is yours to earn. Every mover who meets our performance standards is eligible to advance into a foreman role. Every foreman/driver who demonstrates the right qualities has a direct path into an office position — whether that's dispatch, operations, or beyond. We build our leadership from the ground up because the people who know this business best are the ones who have lived it. If you are looking for more than just a job and want to grow into a career, BoxStar is where that happens.

Compensation & Benefits

-Competitive pay
-Pay match — are you a foreman coming from another moving company? We will match your current rate, with completion of training.
-Paid two-week training period
-Growth opportunities — we promote from within
-Consistent full-time work across local and long-distance jobs
-Supportive dispatch team and a well-maintained fleet
