Job description

RCM is hiring Teacher Assistants to support K to 12 schools and districts. This is an in-person role providing classroom support during school hours.
Daily Rate: $120 per day
Long Term Assignments: $130 per day
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Position Summary
Under the direction of the classroom teacher and school leader, the Teacher Assistant provides instructional and classroom support to help maintain a positive, safe, and productive learning environment. Assists with classroom activities, student supervision, and instructional support while reinforcing lessons provided by the classroom teacher. May perform additional duties as assigned by the school site. Assignments may vary by grade level, classroom setting, and school needs.
Responsibilities
  • Schedule/Shift:
    • Full Day: up to 8 hours
    • Half Day: up to 4 hours
    • School Year: As needed, including daily and long-term assignments
    • Schedule follows the assigned school calendar
  • Key Duties:
    • Assists the classroom teacher with instructional activities and daily classroom routines.
    • Provides individual and small group support to reinforce classroom instruction.
    • Helps maintain a safe, organized, and productive classroom environment.
    • Supervises students during classroom activities, transitions, lunch, recess, and other assigned times.
    • Assists with preparing instructional materials, classroom organization, and other classroom support duties.
    • Supports students in following classroom expectations and school procedures.
    • Follows school protocols and procedures.

Requirements:
  • Credential: Requirements are determined at the school level. All candidates must meet applicable school and state requirements, including successful completion of a background check and any required onboarding or training prior to assignment.
  • Education:
    • High school diploma or higher required.
    • Associate degree or college coursework preferred.
  • Experience: Experience working with children or in educational settings is preferred.
