Dining Services Associate

Position Summary

The Dining Services Associate is responsible for meal service to Members in assigned area and for other designated duties in the kitchen, dining room, memory care and transitional care (Love Joy).

Essential Job Functions:

  • Sets tables and trays in assigned area with necessary items for the meal to be served. May deliver food cart to appropriate unit.
  • Sets up trays for Members who are unable to attend meal service.
  • Sets up, serves, and cleans guest tables when needed.
  • Provides meal service on Memory care unit serving members meals utilizing decentralized dining system. Follows established processes established for service on that unit.
  • Adheres to all established safety and sanitation guidelines and follows department policies and procedures.
  • Works in the dish-room and/or dining room as assigned, following correct procedures to ensure clean and sanitary service to Members.
  • Performs cleaning functions as assigned.
  • May be assigned to put stock away if lifting requirements (lifting up to 50 lbs.) can be met.
  • Participates in in-service education, department meetings and safety programs.
  • Performs other duties as required by management or by administration from time to time.

Expectations of the Position:

  • Dependable, report to work on-time for every schedule shift (ready to work at beginning - start of shift) and work full schedule shifts unless physically unable or pre-approved Paid Time Off (PTO) which includes personal and vacation.
  • Willing and able to work overtime and weekends as required by the position and/or approved by management.
  • Have reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Must be clean and neat in appearance and have a "friendly," hospitality-oriented, and service-oriented personality.
  • Abide by work-related / job procedures and organization policies; (refer to the Employee Handbook).

Qualifications of the Position:

  • Education: High school student or graduate
  • Skills: Ability to read and write.

  • Work is performed in a clean, well lit, Community setting.
  • Employee must be able to perform essential job functions (reasonable accommodation may apply).
