To thrive as a French Translator, you need fluency in both French and the target language, along with a strong grasp of grammar, vocabulary, and cultural nuances, often supported by a degree in translation or linguistics. Familiarity with computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools, terminology databases, and sometimes relevant certifications such as ATA or CIOL are commonly required.
