Job description

Domestic Operations Specialist

Team Worldwide DFW in Grapevine, TX, is seeking an experienced Domestic Operations Specialist in the Freight Forwarding/3PL industry. The ideal candidate will be well versed in domestic air and ground freight operations, customer service and communications, and carrier capacity operations. Position hours will be Monday through Friday, 1000 to 1830.

Requirements

As a Domestic Operations Specialist, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Prioritize, schedule and route shipments for transportation via air and ground network.
  • Interact with customers and agents to rate and quote shipments via air, FTL, LTL, hot shot and line-haul.
  • Maintain and grow relationships on Team’s behalf with both existing and new customers and carriers.
  • Proactively reach out to carriers to source, price, negotiate and track shipments daily.
  • Source and secure capacity for time sensitive freight by leveraging multiple sourcing platforms.
  • Work alongside team members to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
  • Branch Office and agent communications.
  • Local cartage and dispatch.
  • Participate in the department on-call rotation.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2+ years of Freight Forwarding experience required.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask and manage time effectively.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Continual desire to learn and expand domestic knowledge.
  • High level of resourcefulness and initiative.
