Telecommunications/Network Infrastructure Engineer with strong expertise in physical network infrastructure and enterprise networking across Layers 1–4. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable with large-scale cabling efforts and designing secure VLAN and routing architectures that support mission-critical systems. 100% onsite. Specific duties include, but are not limited to the following: Core Responsibilities Network Engineering (Layer 2–4) Design and implement VLAN architectures and network segmentation strategies.
Configure trunking, spanning tree, and Layer 2 switching technologies.
Implement IP addressing schemes, subnetting, and Layer 3 routing configurations.
Troubleshoot across OSI Layers 1–4, correlating physical faults with logical network behavior.
Configure and support routing protocols, ACLs, QoS, and secure traffic flows.
Perform network performance analysis and capacity planning aligned with infrastructure growth. Operational & Compliance Oversight Serve as the primary technical authority for physical and logical network infrastructure issues.
Ensure all installations and configurations comply with DISA STIGs and RMF controls.
Support vulnerability remediation and secure configuration baselines.
Coordinate change management activities and maintain accurate infrastructure documentation.
Support incident response and root cause analysis related to physical or network-layer failures. Requirements:
Clearance Level: Secret Certifications (IAT Level II) One of the following: CySA+ Security+ CCNA – Security GICSP GSEC SSCP Required Skills: 8+ years of enterprise network engineering experience.
Deep understanding of structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA) and fiber/copper infrastructure.
Hands-on experience designing and implementing VLAN and Layer 3 routing solutions.
Proven ability to troubleshoot across physical and logical network layers. Preferred Qualifications Cisco CCNP or higher (or equivalent enterprise certification)
Experience supporting classified enclaves.
Cisco CCNP or higher (or equivalent enterprise certification).
Experience with fiber backbone design and data center build outs.
Familiarity with network monitoring and infrastructure documentation platforms.
