What does a Freelance Project Manager do?

A Freelance Project Manager is an independent professional who oversees and coordinates projects for clients on a contract basis. Their responsibilities include planning project timelines, managing budgets and resources, communicating with stakeholders, and ensuring that project goals are met on time and within scope. Unlike in-house project managers, freelancers work with multiple clients and may handle projects across various industries. They offer flexibility and specialized expertise, making them valuable for organizations that need project support without hiring a full-time employee.

What Does a Freelance Project Manager Do?

A freelance project manager provides independent management services for a client or organization on a contract basis. Project manager positions are available in many fields, including software development and construction. Specific responsibilities vary based on the type of services a client offers, but the main goal of any freelance project manager is to oversee the completion of a project. This often includes assembling a team, setting goals and deadlines, and communicating with management about progress.

To thrive as a Freelance Project Manager, you need strong project management skills, organizational abilities, and often a relevant degree or certification such as PMP or PRINCE2. Familiarity with tools like Asana, Trello, Microsoft Project, and virtual collaboration platforms is typically required. Excellent communication, adaptability, and self-motivation distinguish top performers in this independent role. These skills ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope while effectively managing client expectations and remote teams.

Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You're in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.

The right person for this role will be a strategic thinker, passionate and detail-oriented designer, and a highly-motivated, proactive individual that has the experience, ability and drive to manage multiple projects, establish a clear creative vision, and work seamlessly with cross-functional teams across the company.

The Agentforce Sales Product Creative team is responsible for all associated marketing material and promotion for our Sales products, ranging from high-level creative campaigns, and exciting event activations, down to the necessary demand-gen work that fuels meaningful MDP.

You have excellent design skills, a wealth of digital experience, and impressive conceptual abilities. You're fearless in trying new directions or techniques in order to create something new and push boundaries of what's been done before. You have your finger on the pulse of industry trends and best practices, and you're frequently sought out by other designers for input on their designs. You're both a sprinter and long-distance runner.

You'll concept everything from big campaign ideas and event experiences to cohesive design themes for email campaigns and what should go on a t-shirt. You'll art direct and design new creative campaigns, sizzle reels, animations, e-books, social campaigns, websites, presentations and anything else to tell our product and customer stories. You'll also create immersive experiences for our world-class events, including Dreamforce, the biggest technology conference in the world.
You are passionate about AI tools, learning new software, experimenting quickly, and excited by the unknown. You are equally passionate about your craft, with an acute eye for detail and a desire for pixel perfection whenever possible.

What else you'll do

  • Work closely with the Creative Director and fellow creatives on conceptual creative development, design and execution across key marketing briefs.

  • Develop creative ideas that meet project KPIs; test and iterate when necessary

  • Work cross functionally with key marketing leads to present creative concepts and solutions against briefs

  • Ensure the consistency of the brand and highest quality of design across all projects

  • Take full ownership of creative quality across all deliverables, including deck and file readiness (e.g., Figma files and presentations) for every review and final handoff.

  • Keen understanding and passion to learn about and share insights on design and industry trends

  • Create, concept, inspire others, and roll up their sleeves while bringing creative ideas to life; can deliver and receive direct and clear feedback

  • Ability to think big while operating at the lowest level of detail

  • Must be a self starter while being comfortable guiding teams, freelancers, agencies, and production partners

  • Pursue creative excellence in all forms, from high-level campaign executions to demand generation

  • Proactively identify team efficiencies and share new ways to leverage AI
