Pharmaceutical Account Manager
**Pharmacy Technician Certification Required**

SUMMARY
The Account Manager will be responsible for managing relationships with their assigned facilities ensuring exceptional service delivery. This field-based position serves as the primary point of contact for clients and collaborates with internal pharmacy teams to support quality customer care. The role requires frequent local travel and occasional overnight travel. Reliable personal transportation is required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Successful performance in this position requires the ability to carry out all essential job functions effectively. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. The functions are as follow, but not limited to:
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at the facilities, working with facility leadership and floor staff to be the liaison between facility and pharmacy.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for assigned accounts, understanding their needs and working with facility and pharmacy to provide quality care to the customer.
  • Partner with facility leadership, pharmacy operations, and clinical services to support medication therapy and compliance-related needs.
  • Address client inquiries, concerns, and issues promptly and effectively.
  • Conduct training and in-service education on pharmacy systems and processes for facility staff during go-live, startup, scheduled visits, and as requested.
  • Conduct monthly onsite visits and provide relevant reporting to facilities to support ongoing service improvement.
  • Provide timely follow-up to facility leadership regarding issues identified and resolved during visits.
  • Submit required visit reports and other relevant documentation into pharmacy systems within established timeframes.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with internal pharmacy teams to ensure seamless coordination of services for clients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
The regular work schedule for this position is full- time, and may included weekends and holidays as needed or on a rotating basis and may require additional hours/overtime as necessary.
Sitting or standing for extended periods of time, computer usage including data entry for much of the workday, regular phone communication, handling paperwork and documentation, and participating in meetings. Field position requiring frequent local travel throughout the state and occasional overnight stays.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience, Certified pharmacy tech (or willing to become certified), prior experience in account management preferred (specifically in Long Term Care or healthcare industry), or an equivalent mix of education and experience. Ability to handle escalated issues with diplomacy and professionalism a must. Long term care pharmacy experience preferred.
Computer Skills: Intermediate computer proficiency.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as medication documentation, business correspondence and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and business correspondence; ability to speak effectively, both in person and by telephone, to customers or employees of the organization.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Reliable personal transportation is required.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record may be required, if applicable
  • Ability to travel locally on a daily basis and occasionally overnight, depending on business needs.
