Job description

Onward Education is a specialized education staffing and talent solutions company that helps educators, therapists, and school health professionals find top jobs with the nation's top schools. We're partnering with a school district in Norwalk County, CT to hire a compassionate and committed Special Education Teachers for the remainder of the 2025/2026 school year.

We have three Special Education Teacher positions available, two for Elementary (part-time and full-time) and one for Middle School (full-time). We are looking for educators who thrive in a collaborative, student-centered environment.

Position Details:

  • Location: Norfolk County, CT.

  • Specialty: Elementary Special Education Teacher part-time, Elementary Special Education Teacher full-time, and Middle School Special Education Teacher full-time

  • Length of Role: Remainder of 25/26 school year

  • Caseload: Elementary~ Resource, self-contained; Middle School~ self-contained Reading and Math for 6th-7th grades

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), modify curriculum, and track student progress.

  • Provide individualized instruction to cultivate academic, social, and emotional growth while managing student behavior and fostering inclusion.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure a cohesive approach to student learning.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or related field.

  • Connecticut Special Education K-12 Endorsement is required.
