Position: System Integration and test Engineer
Location: Orlando, FL
About the Role
We are seeking a Platform Integration Engineer to plan, implement, test, and maintain system-level integration solutions across hardware and software components. In this role, you will work on integrating in-house and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS/GOTS) technologies while ensuring system performance, reliability, and compliance with technical and customer requirements.
You will collaborate across engineering teams to design test strategies, troubleshoot integration issues, and validate system functionality in lab and operational environments.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and execute integration and test solutions for subsystems and full system architectures.
Translate customer requirements into scalable and testable system-level solutions, balancing technical, schedule, and cost considerations.
Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, procedures, and schedules for system validation and verification.
Define and document functional and technical specifications, including system interfaces, input/output parameters, and performance criteria.
Perform system integration in lab environments (e.g., System Integration Labs - SIL) using industry-standard test equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMMs), and data parsing tools.
Troubleshoot hardware/software interface challenges and drive resolution across integrated systems.
Analyze test results and produce detailed evaluation reports to validate system performance and compliance.
Identify, document, and track defects through discrepancy reports; perform regression testing to verify fixes.
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, program teams, and stakeholders to coordinate integration and test activities.
Ensure adherence to Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and system-level integration standards.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
5+ years of experience in system integration and testing.
5+ years of experience developing and executing test plans and procedures.
5+ years of hands-on experience with electrical testing.
5+ years of experience in hardware integration and validation.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and system interface validation.
Hands-on experience in System Integration Lab (SIL) environments.
Proficiency with lab test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, DMMs) and debugging tools.
Experience with test automation, scripting, and data parsing tools.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex system integration issues.
Experience coordinating large-scale system or subsystem testing efforts.
