Job Description & Skill Requirement:
Avionics Engineering is seeking to fill a Senior Production Test Equipment Engineering support position with a talented individual who possesses a BSEE or similar degree. The primary responsibility of this position is to develop test hardware and software for aviation test equipment products and to troubleshoot and correct production test equipment issues as needed.
This requirement for this position is full-time, onsite in Melbourne, Florida. The position may require weekend working to meet Client needs.
The engineer who fills this position must have design, development, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills for Automated Test Equipment / Production Test Equipment.
US Citizenship / Permanent Resident is required.
 
Core Responsibilities / Essential Functions:
  • Design, develop and debug Automated Test Equipment (ATE) hardware and software solutions for characterization, qualification, and production release.
  • Work with design engineers in defining and developing test methodologies, test plans, test modes and Design-For-Test.
  • Define test schematics and review layout of printed circuit boards for testing.
  • Debug test programs, correlate data, and optimize test time to support product production.
  • Develop ATE test solutions in LabVIEW or CVI/C/C++ language.
  • Support manufacturing for yield improvement, product transfer, failure analysis and test time reduction.
  • Manage and maintain projects milestones that aligns with product work plan and release dates.
Desired skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline is required.
  • 7+ Years Experience in relevant engineering role
  • Can read and develop electronic circuit diagrams
  • Be able to design and debug ATE circuit board and test circuits.
  • Familiar with analog and digital devices.
  • Strong CVI/C/C++ or LabVIEW object-oriented programming (OOP) skills
  • Strong background on electrical circuit analysis theory and design.
  • Know how to use lab instruments such as scope, meter, power supply, etc.
  • Be able to interpret data.
  • Experience with databases (MS Access or SQL)
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
Typical responsibilities may include:
  • Experience developing, integrating, and validating HW in a production testing environment for aviation products
  • Experience designing chassis-based test equipment, test fixtures, wiring harnesses, PCBA design, etc.
  • Understand how to capture and represent I/O from the product under test, through the fixture to the ATE (Automated Test Equipment)
  • Understanding the operation of COTS equipment related to testing
  • Practical use of associated HW tools for HW design and layout.
Qualification:
  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline is required.
