Job description

Company Description Gamble + Design is a residential interior design studio specializing in renovations and furnishings. The firm has been based in San Francisco for 15 years and is recognized in publications such as California Home + Design, Rue, and San Francisco Magazine. Gamble + Design partners closely with clients to create thoughtful, livable spaces tailored to individual lifestyles. In addition to San Francisco, the studio serves clients in the North Bay, Sea Ranch, and the Peninsula, offering comprehensive design services from concept through completion.
Role Description The Junior Interior Designer will support the design team with concept development, space planning, and sourcing FF&E for residential projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with drawings and presentations, preparing mood boards and material palettes, coordinating samples, and helping maintain project documentation and libraries. The role also involves supporting site visits, measuring spaces, documenting existing conditions, and collaborating with vendors and contractors under senior guidance. This is a part-time, on-site role located in the San Francisco Bay Area, requiring regular presence at the studio and project locations.
Qualifications
  • Foundational skills in Interior Design and FF&E selection, including furniture, finishes, and fixtures.
  • Ability in Space Planning and Architecture concepts to develop efficient, functional layouts.
  • Knowledge of Construction Drawings and documentation standards to support project execution.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or similar tools.
  • Strong visual communication skills, including presentation layouts, mood boards, and hand sketches.
  • Excellent organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with a client-focused, professional demeanor.
  • Degree or coursework in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
