Company Description eric hedlund design llc is a small, client-focused interior design studio based in Coeur d'Alene, ID. The firm is dedicated to creating thoughtful, functional, and aesthetically cohesive spaces for residential and small commercial clients. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Junior Interior Designer role based in Coeur d'Alene, ID or Kalispel, MT offices. The Junior Interior Designer will assist with developing design concepts, preparing space plans, and creating mood boards and material palettes under the guidance of senior designers. Day-to-day work includes drafting and updating drawings, selecting finishes and furnishings, preparing presentations, and helping maintain project documentation and samples. The role involves coordinating with vendors, requesting quotes, and supporting purchasing and procurement activities. The Junior Interior Designer will also participate in site visits, measurements, and installation coordination, while ensuring that design solutions align with client needs, timelines, and budgets.

Qualifications

  • Ability to contribute to interior design concepts, space planning, and material/furniture selections.
  • Proficiency with design and drafting tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or similar) and presentation software (e.g., PowerPoint, InDesign, or equivalent).
  • Strong visual, organizational, and documentation skills to support drawings, mood boards, and project specifications.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with clients, team members, vendors, and contractors.
  • Attention to detail, time management, and ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced studio environment.
  • Ability to work on-site in Coeur d'Alene, ID and participate in local site visits, meetings, and installations.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Interest in building codes, accessibility considerations, and best practices in sustainable and durable materials is a plus.
