Job description

Job Description

Washington Athletics has an outstanding opportunity for a Husky First Aid attendant to join their Customer Service Team.
Husky First Aid staff members render first aid and subsequent treatment to injured or ill individuals at Husky Sporting Events. Their responsibility is to assess the patients and to sterilize, disinfect, anoint, and bandage minor cuts and burns. First Aid staff will perform CPR and administers oxygen when needed. Additional responsibilities include stocking First Aid supplies, cleaning equipment, and responding to medical emergencies.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Vital Signs (blood pressure, pulse, respirations, temperature)
  • CPR (both adult and child)
  • Oxygen Saturations
  • Complete body exam with level of alertness, skin condition, blood, broken bones etc
  • Pain Assessment
  • Airway Management
  • Treat for Shock
  • Mental Status
  • Bandage wounds and stop bleeding
  • Backboard patients when necessary and maintain stabilization of the head
  • Ability to provide a proper report of incident and care given to the patient to ALS personnel
  • Impairment of limb movement and stabilization thereof
  • Knowledge as to when to get ALS for further care of the patient
  • Treatment for anaphylaxis
  • Plus treatment and care for other conditions which require first aid

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • First Aid Certification and Hospital or Red Cross CPR certification

Additional Requirements:
  • Positive attitude toward taking on additional job responsibilities
  • Good judgment

DESIRED REQUIREMENTS
  • Emergency Responder; First Responder; National Ski Patrol First Aid; EMT; Medical Assistant/Certified Nursing Assistant; Registered Nurse; Paramedic; ARNP (Registered Nurse Practioner); Doctor.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Must be available nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be flexible to accommodate time changes
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, and climb stairs throughout the event
  • Required to occasionally lift 10 lbs. unaided
