Special Education Teacher Responsibilities:

• Provide highly specialized instruction for students with specific disabilities in specialized programs or classroom settings.
• Deliver curriculum and instructional strategies aligned to the unique needs of the student population served.
• Incorporate evidence-based approaches as appropriate to the program model (e.g., applied behavior analysis or social-emotional learning).
• Implement sensory supports and/or adaptive technologies as needed to support student access and progress.
• Create a structured, supportive learning environment tailored to intensive and individualized student needs.

Special Education Teacher Qualifications:

• Experience supporting students with disabilities who require highly specialized instruction in specialized programs or classroom settings.
• Ability to implement curriculum and teaching strategies aligned to the needs of a specific disability-focused program.
• Familiarity with common specialized supports such as sensory supports and adaptive technologies.
• Knowledge of instructional approaches used within specialized settings (e.g., applied behavior analysis and social-emotional learning).
• Ability to tailor instruction to meet the needs of students requiring intensive, individualized support.

Eligibility requires working over 30 hours per week on an assignment lasting at least 10 weeks.
