How does a Fractional Recruiter typically balance multiple clients and prioritize recruiting tasks effectively?

As a Fractional Recruiter, you're often working with several clients simultaneously, which requires strong organizational and time-management skills. Prioritizing tasks involves close communication with each client to understand their most urgent hiring needs and aligning your workflow accordingly. This role frequently involves adapting to different company cultures and hiring processes, making flexibility and proactive communication essential for success.

What is a fractional recruiter?

A fractional recruiter is a talent acquisition professional who works with organizations on a part-time or contract basis, rather than as a full-time, in-house employee. They typically provide recruiting services for multiple clients, helping companies source, screen, and hire candidates as needed. This flexible arrangement allows businesses to access experienced recruiting support without committing to a permanent hire, making it ideal for startups, small businesses, or companies with fluctuating hiring needs. Fractional recruiters can bring specialized expertise and a fresh perspective to an organization’s hiring process.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Fractional Recruiter, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Fractional Recruiter, you need a strong background in talent acquisition, candidate sourcing, and client relationship management, often supported by experience in recruiting across multiple industries. Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS), sourcing tools like LinkedIn Recruiter, and possibly relevant certifications such as AIRS or SHRM is highly valuable. Exceptional communication, time management, and adaptability are crucial soft skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse clients and candidates. These skills ensure the delivery of high-quality hiring solutions in a flexible, project-based environment where efficiency and responsiveness are essential.

Job description

We’re looking for a Fractional Recruiter to support a variety of talent acquisition projects across our client portfolio. This is a flexible, contract engagement ideal for an experienced recruiter who wants to plug into meaningful healthcare searches without a full-time commitment. You’ll ramp up and down across concurrent client needs — from high-volume clinical hiring pushes to targeted individual searches — and you’ll own full-cycle recruiting with speed and precision. If you thrive on urgency, juggle multiple requisitions without dropping quality, and know the healthcare talent market, this role is for you.

What You’ll Do

  • Own full-cycle recruiting across multiple concurrent client projects — sourcing, screening, coordinating interviews, and supporting offers
  • Run high-volume searches for clinical and non-clinical roles (e.g., NPs, PAs, RNs, care team staff, plus operational and growth positions) with a strong sense of urgency and short time-to-fill targets
  • Build and manage healthy candidate pipelines using proactive sourcing across LinkedIn, ATS databases, referrals, and other channels
  • Deliver a personalized, high-touch candidate experience from first contact through close
  • Partner closely with client hiring managers and Leave Your Mark leads to calibrate roles, set expectations, and keep searches moving
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date candidate records and status updates in each client’s ATS
  • Provide clear, regular pipeline reporting and flag risks early
  • Adapt quickly as priorities shift across clients and requisitions

What You Bring

  • 4+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with a meaningful portion in healthcare (provider, clinical, and/or healthcare operations hiring)
  • Proven high-volume recruiting experience — comfortable managing many open requisitions simultaneously
  • A demonstrated sense of urgency and a track record of hitting aggressive time-to-fill goals without sacrificing quality
  • Strong sourcing skills across LinkedIn Recruiter, ATS platforms, and creative channels
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with candidates and hiring managers alike
  • Ability to work independently, self-manage across clients, and stay organized under pressure
  • Comfort with a metrics-driven approach to recruiting (pipeline health, conversion, time-to-fill)
  • Experience recruiting for value-based care, home-based care, or startup healthcare environments
  • Familiarity with clinical licensure and credentialing considerations
  • Experience working in an agency, RPO, or embedded/fractional model
  • Familiarity with a range of ATS platforms

Engagement Details

  • Contract / fractional engagement with flexible hours that flex with client demand
  • Fully remote
  • Opportunity for ongoing work across multiple clients as projects arise
