Fractional Director information

What is a fractional director?

A Fractional Director is an experienced executive who works with a company on a part-time or contract basis, rather than as a full-time employee. They typically provide strategic leadership and guidance in specific areas such as finance, operations, marketing, or technology. Fractional Directors are often hired by small or growing businesses that need high-level expertise but do not require a full-time director. This arrangement allows companies to benefit from specialist knowledge and experience without the cost of a permanent executive. Fractional Directors can work with multiple organizations simultaneously, offering flexible and scalable support.

How do fractional directors typically integrate with existing leadership teams to drive results?

Fractional Directors often work part-time or on a contract basis, so they need to quickly build rapport with existing leadership and staff. Successful integration involves establishing clear communication channels, understanding the company’s culture and goals, and setting well-defined expectations with stakeholders. They frequently act as strategic advisors, prioritizing key initiatives and collaborating closely with department heads to implement process improvements. This role requires adaptability and strong interpersonal skills to effectively drive change and deliver value within a limited timeframe.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a fractional director, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Fractional Director, you need extensive leadership experience, strategic business acumen, and a proven track record in driving organizational growth, often backed by an advanced degree or relevant industry certifications. Familiarity with business intelligence tools, CRM platforms, and project management systems is highly valued. Exceptional communication, adaptability, and relationship-building skills help Fractional Directors quickly integrate and deliver value across diverse organizations. These abilities are crucial for providing impactful, short-term leadership that addresses specific business challenges and accelerates results.

Job description

Build Your Career in Aesthetic Medicine at Wise Aesthetics

Wise Aesthetics is an established medical aesthetics and skin health practice in Carmel, Indiana.  We believe exceptional aesthetic medicine starts with listening, thoughtful clinical assessment, excellent technique, and recommending the right treatment for the right patient—not simply selling a procedure.

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with a strong foundation in aesthetic medicine who wants to continue developing as a comprehensive aesthetic provider within a collaborative, high-performing clinical team.

This is a part-time opportunity for a clinician who enjoys building long-term patient relationships, producing natural-looking results, and thinking beyond Botox and filler to create thoughtful, multimodal treatment plans.

The Opportunity

At Wise Aesthetics, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Perform energy-based and advanced injectable treatments, including neuromodulators, dermal fillers, and biostimulatory injectables.
  • Conduct comprehensive aesthetic consultations and medical evaluations, including Good Faith Examinations when appropriate.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on each patient's anatomy, concerns, goals, medical history, budget, and desired treatment cadence.
  • Build lasting relationships with patients focused on continuity of care rather than transactional treatments.
  • Expand your knowledge of skin health, medical-grade skincare, and advanced energy-based technologies.
  • Develop additional treatment competencies through internal education, manufacturer training, external clinical training, and mentorship.

An existing patient following is welcome, but it is not required. We are more interested in finding an excellent clinician who fits our philosophy and can build trusted patient relationships over time.

More Than an Injector

Aesthetic medicine at Wise Aesthetics is intentionally multimodal.  Our providers understand how injectables, biostimulators, skincare, lasers, light-based treatments, RF microneedling, microneedling, chemical peels, and other skin health treatments can work together to address a patient's concerns.  Depending on your experience, interests, training, and demonstrated competency, you may also perform selected energy-based or other aesthetic treatments.  You do not need to be an expert in every modality when you join us. You do need to be clinically curious, eager to learn, and interested in becoming a more complete aesthetic medicine provider.

What You'll Do

  • Perform safe, thoughtful, anatomy-driven aesthetic injectable treatments.
  • Conduct patient consultations, assessments, treatment planning, informed consent, and appropriate medical evaluations.
  • Educate patients about treatment options, risks, limitations, downtime, expected outcomes, and maintenance.
  • Recommend staged or multimodal treatment plans when they provide a better path to the patient's goals.
  • Recognize, appropriately manage, and escalate aesthetic complications and adverse events.
  • Maintain complete and timely clinical documentation and standardized before-and-after photography.
  • Participate in ongoing clinical education, competency development, and quality improvement.
  • Collaborate with NPs/PAs, nurses, estheticians, front-office staff, practice leadership, and the Medical Director.
  • Take ownership of patient follow-up, outcomes, retention, and continuity of care.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • Licensed and legally authorized to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Indiana.
  • Appropriate national board certification.
  • Graduate-level education from an accredited NP or PA program.
  • Approximately 2+ years of hands-on medical aesthetics experience, including meaningful experience with neuromodulators and dermal fillers.
  • Strong understanding of facial anatomy and safe injection principles.
  • Excellent clinical judgment, attention to detail, and patient communication skills.
  • Ability to make confident aesthetic recommendations without using high-pressure sales techniques.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Commitment to continued education and professional development.

Preferred

  • 3+ years of aesthetic injection experience.
  • Experience with multiple neuromodulator and dermal filler portfolios.
  • Experience with Sculptra, Radiesse, cannula techniques, PRP/PRF, or related regenerative treatments.
  • Background in medical aesthetics, dermatology, plastic surgery, or facial plastics.
  • Familiarity with energy-based technologies such as BBL/IPL, fractional lasers, CO2 lasers, Nd:YAG treatments, or RF microneedling.
  • Experience conducting comprehensive aesthetic consultations or Good Faith Examinations.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong patient retention through excellent outcomes and relationships.

Who Thrives at Wise

Our strongest providers:

  • Put patient interests ahead of production.
  • Produce safe, refined, natural-looking results.
  • Build trust through thoughtful consultation and education.
  • Think in terms of comprehensive treatment plans rather than isolated procedures.
  • Take ownership of patient outcomes and follow-up.
  • Welcome feedback and continually improve their clinical skills.
  • Collaborate with other providers rather than compete with them.
  • Care deeply about the reputation and clinical standards of the practice.

Compensation & Benefits

Wise offers competitive compensation designed to reward both individual contribution and the overall success of the practice.

Eligible part-time team members receive:

  • Competitive base compensation plus performance-based incentive opportunities
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Holiday pay
  • Continuing education and professional-development support
  • Access to advanced internal, manufacturer, and external aesthetic training
  • Opportunities to expand clinical competencies as our treatment portfolio evolves

Specific compensation will be based on experience, clinical capabilities, and demonstrated competencies.

Why Wise Aesthetics?

There are many places to perform aesthetic procedures. We want Wise Aesthetics to be the place where talented clinicians build a career in aesthetic medicine.

You will work alongside experienced providers in a practice that values clinical judgment, patient relationships, ongoing education, advanced technology, and natural outcomes. You will have the opportunity to broaden your expertise beyond individual injectable procedures and become a more complete aesthetic medicine provider.

If you are clinically curious, technically strong, patient-centered, collaborative, and committed to becoming better at your craft, we would like to meet you.

Wise Aesthetics is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Employment decisions are based on qualifications, experience, merit, and business needs without regard to any status protected by applicable law.
