Job description

MRO Clerk

The MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operation) Clerk is responsible for assisting the Engineering, Maintenance, and indirect inventory and services. Issues/Tracks/Expedites purchase orders for required maintenance and consumable items. Manages storeroom duties, inventory levels, and vendors in accordance with Walmart/FPL (Red Kingfisher Thomasville Facility) policies and procedure.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Proficient in the use of a computer with a good working knowledge of MS Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.) Possesses good verbal and written skills

Familiar with company philosophy, procedures, practices, manufacturing environment and equipment. Possesses a strong work ethic and able to work independently, effectively, and efficiently with minimal supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Facilitates the smooth operation of the Engineering & Maintenance Department's daily activities through efficient handling of incoming messages, work requests, employee requests, issuing and record keeping of the equipment's PM checklist/schedules. Acts as a liaison and expediter between the Engineering & Maintenance Department and vendors/contractors to ensure both adherence to Walmart/FPL (Red Kingfisher Thomasville Facility) policies, and the timely completion of projects and/or repairs.

Manage all aspects of MRO/indirect purchasing and distribution while considering cost-effective solutions.

Creates and monitors purchase orders for accuracy and compliance, request and receive price quotes from vendors, compare quotes against requirements and the budget, and purchase orders via fax or computer.

Reconciles purchase orders, receiving and inventory discrepancies.

Works with the vendors and the AP department to ensure receipts and payments are processed accurately.

Reconciles MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operation) reports on a weekly or, if required, more frequent basis.

Manages and maintains MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operation) inventory levels.

Performs inventory reviews, cycle counts and other activities with emphasis on corporate inventory and spend objectives. Responsible for spare part SKU maintenance, including SAP system settings and usage risk assessments.

Collaborates with other facilities to ensure corporate standardization occurs with vendors suppling MRO inventory, general production supplies and/or facility services.

Exercises fair judgment, integrity and prudence in accordance with Walmart/FPL (Red Kingfisher Thomasville Facility) philosophies on purchasing and working with vendors/suppliers.

Attend the Operational and Maintenance Meeting if it is required and instructed by the Plant Engineer.

Ensures that Spare parts are made available for each Technician for each work order (Preventative and Corrective)

Conducts oneself and communicates, internally and externally, in a professional manner.

Schedules all the spare parts required for the work orders using SAP Post-start up communication with Operation / Technical group to assess operational performance of the equipment in the Operation's perspective focusing on the parts availability and completion.

Assures that safe work practices and company policies are always followed by employees and vendors/contractors (it is everyone responsibility).

Performs other duties as directed by the Plant Engineer
