Job Summary

As a member of the Foundation fundraising team, the Leadership Annual Giving Development Associate is responsible for securing leadership annual gifts in the range of $1,000 to $99,999 and effectively managing and growing a portfolio of leadership-level donors. This role involves the strategic planning and execution of targeted engagement and stewardship programs to cultivate long-term relationships with donors in the Associate's portfolio. The Development Associate plays a key role in identifying and nurturing potential major gift prospects within this donor segment, ensuring a strong pipeline for future major gifts and contributing to the organization's fundraising goals and mission.

Job Specific Duties

  • Plans, develops, and executes strategies for obtaining private donations; identifies, cultivates and solicits LAG gift from donors and prospects.
  • Assists in developing and implementing strategic plans for the Foundation's Development department.
  • Manages a personal portfolio of 125 to 150 donors and potential donors. Maintains a regular schedule of donor touchpoints.
  • Solicits and closes a sufficient number of gifts to make the stated goals for each year (minimum: $500,000 per calendar year).
  • Creates an assigned number of discovery/prospecting calls on potential donors to NCHF to determine the capacity and the propensity for giving to NCHF.
  • Collaborates with stewardship team in recognition of donor philanthropy.
  • Provides timely and accurate updates of LAG gift activity and fundraising results. Continuously updates Raisers Edge database with actions, moves management, etc.
  • Identifies and utilizes resources including physicians and other healthcare professionals, staff, publications and the internet to identify linkage to, ability and interest of LAG gift prospects.
  • Works with Development Team to establish plans with specific goals and timetables to raise LAG gifts as required by the scope of activities, special projects, and ongoing fundraising needs to ensure a strong base of ongoing financial support with maximum growth potential.
  • Assists in special campaigns and foundation support through the foundation available programs. Attends NCH/NCHF events as well as outside events for Foundation representation, networking etc.
  • Populates the Diamond Society with membership.
Qualifications

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and/or 4 year of equivalent experience in broad-based fundraising
  • 2-4 years of broad-based fundraising experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to solicit and cultivate gifts at the $1,000 level and above.
  • Broad base of knowledge and skills related to donor cultivation.
  • Ability to solicit and cultivate donor gifts at the $75,000 level and below.
  • 2 years experience with computer systems including web based applications and Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).
  • Comfort and experience in databases such as Raisers Edge or equivalent.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • A level of professional maturity, judgment and decisiveness to inspire confidence among prospects and donors.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to write and speak persuasively.
  • Deadline and detail oriented.
  • Able to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Able to travel.
  • Familiarity with donor database applications.
  • Ability to plan and execute fundraising initiatives.
