Job description

The Production Supervisor will be responsible for the Shift overall activities of the production operations, including workplace safety and food safety
Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities
  • Meet cost, quality and service targets within the Manufacturing and Operations area as detailed on our Plant Leadership Scorecards
  • Manage, lead, and develop staff to establish a high-performance work team.
  • Develop and implement cost savings projects to improve overall departmental efficiency.
  • Engage with network peers to identify, create, and promote improvements in service and cost efficiency as a team
  • Execute talent management strategy to improve organizational capacity and capability.
  • Ensure the Health and Welfare of our associates.
  • Evaluate and interpret daily production reports to observe trends in the production cycle.
  • Maintain a production line balance and issues system that allows the whole plant to have situational awareness of the production floor.
  • Understand AS400 system to interpret and implement the daily production schedule and be able to fill in for the scheduling department during non-typical work hours. .
  • Work directly with the temporary employment agency to ensure the most efficient use of this resource.
  • Be an active member of the MRP group in achieving a goal of 100% order fill.
  • Ensure all safety accidents are followed up according to FE SOPs.
  • Ensure all corrective actions are followed up according to FE SOPs.
  • Objectives are not limited to the above.

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to develop people, teams, and oneself through innovative means.
  • Demonstrated ability to both lead a team and work in a matrix organization
  • Ability to influence at all levels of the organization and across all functions
  • Ability to prioritize duties in a changing environment and still meet business objectives
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to address issues in a timely manner.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Ability to develop and adhere to department budget.
  • Ability to be hands on manager with the skills and fortitude to work in a fast paced, challenging food manufacturing environment

Required Education and Experience
  • B.S. in a related field from an accredited 4-year college.
  • 5+ years progressive related experience within a manufacturing environment with minimum 3 years managing Supervisors
  • Experience in food manufacturing and/or distribution preferred
