Job description

F&A Technologies LLC (F&A) is seeking a skilled and motivated Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to work hand-in-hand with our Development and Sustainment Teams in navigating Security policy/requirements that effectively deliver compliant and compelling technical/operational solutions. As a whole, the Program supports a Classified Government Customer responsible for Records and Information Management, Classification Management and Policy, Archives and Records Center oversight, Records Digitization and Automation, and a host of software development and enabling functions that position the Customer for sustained success. The potential on this Program to expand support to other Sponsor Customer areas and the larger Intelligence Community is high and requires an individual a strong security background who understands and can translate security policy/requirements into actionable artifacts; someone who can think strategically; respond tactically; has the interpersonal skills to effectively communicate, interface and represent the Program at all levels; possesses a strong Mission/Support ethic; and takes proprietary pride in performance.
Procedurally, the ISSE will work closely with the ISSM, Customer Leadership, and the Program in every facet of development and sustainment activity. The successful ISSE will provide security guidance, standards, and oversight. He/She will provide input to A&A process activities and related documentation such as systems concept of operations, system security design, implementation plans, operational procedures, and maintenance training materials. Moreover, facilitate and own security support and compliance efforts that lead to an efficient/effective end result. The ISSE is an integral member of the Team and requires a roll-up-your-sleeves type individual with a 'how it can be done' vs 'why it can't be done' mindset.
This position is located in Herndon and flexible work schedule options are available.
The Successful Candidate will possess the following skills and capabilities:
Essential:

• Possesses strong analytic and problem solving skills, has the ability to make informed/educated decisions, and possess a continuous improvement mindset.
• Through understanding of Information Security principles and Risk Assessment techniques.
• Experience working with Sponsor and providing input to A&A process activities and related documentation such as systems concept of operations, system security design, implementation plans, operational procedures, and maintenance training materials.
• Demonstrated experience conducting assessments of existing and proposed security architectures and designs for compliance (e.g. ICD 503).
• A TS/SCI Clearance w/Poly.
• Bachelor's degree (preferably in STEM field) and 3 years technical experience. Experience will be considered in lieu of education.
