Our forensics and valuation professionals are experts at providing a variety of services, including forensic accounting, litigation services, and fraud investigations, as well as handling various complex valuation issues faced by clients related to compliance, mergers & acquisitions, and financial reporting.

As a Forvis Mazars Forensic & Valuation Intern, you will develop expertise , expand your knowledge, and build collaborative relationships within the practice and with clients. Further, you will have meaningful support from firm leadership for substantial professional development and perform services for clients across the country. Forvis Mazars’ Forensic & Valuation leadership team takes pride in creating and maintaining a supportive and respectful environment for our team members.

How you will contribute:

  • Preparing business valuation models and reports
  • Researching and analyzing industry, transactional, and economic information
  • Preparing for and participating in management interviews, either onsite or via teleconference
  • Assisting audit teams with reviewing and testing fair value estimates
  • Assisting with mathematical testing related to quality control procedures
  • Participating in investigations, litigation support, and forensic consulting engagements
  • Performing detailed analysis of financial and legal documents, analysis of potentially fraudulent transactions, and reconstruction of financial statements
  • Applying technical research skills needed to gather, organize, summarize, and interpret data to arrive at a conclusion
  • Delivering Forvis Mazars’ commitment to unmatched client experience through timely and responsive communication with internal and external client

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college/university
  • Maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher (in major and overall)
  • Some travel may be required , up to 20%
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Desire or the ability to sit for the CPA exam
  • Desire to obtain the Accreditation in Business Valuation (ABV), Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA), and/or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) credentials

The salary for this role will be based on the experience, education, and skill set of the individual for the position. Virginia Wage Transparency

Pursuant to Virginia's Equal Pay Law, the salary range displayed is for the Virginia market. The salary for this role will be based on the experience, education, and skill set of the individual for the position. Positions that are non-exempt will be eligible for overtime pay compensable at a rate of one and a half times the hourly rate for any hours worked over 40 in a work week. Benefits are eligibility-based and could include group health plan benefits, 401(K), profit-sharing contributions, flexible time off, and parental leave. Forvis Mazars reserves the right to make changes to the salary range based on business needs.
