Purpose or role of this position at Morehouse
The Football Personnel Assistant supports the player personnel department in areas such as scouting, player evaluation, recruiting, data management, and administrative coordination. This role is vital for assisting the Director of Player Personnel in making informed decisions on roster development, transfer portal, and high school player preparations.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in gathering and organizing scouting reports.
  • Help compile player evaluations from college, or high school levels.
  • Monitor player news and updates (injuries, performance, off-field issues).
  • Support preparation for high school/portal boards and player rankings.
  • Help manage databases and software (e.g., HUDL, XOS, Catapult).
  • Track recruiting activity and update prospect information.
  • Assist with organizing recruiting visits.
  • Maintain personnel databases with updated player information.
  • Organize and input data of player metrics, stats, and scouting grades.
  • Assist with video cutups and tagging plays for film study.
  • Assist with coordinating schedules and logistics for coaches.
  • Prepare and distribute reports, presentations, or scouting materials.
  • Assist with event planning (recruiting meetings, tryouts, recruiting weekends).
