Senior Buyer (Foodservice Distribution)

Philadelphia, PA | Full-Time | On-Site

Honor Foods is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join our growing Purchasing team in Philadelphia.

This is a highly visible role responsible for sourcing, purchasing, supplier management, inventory planning, and strategic procurement across a diverse portfolio of foodservice products. The ideal candidate has experience buying commodities within the food distribution, foodservice, wholesale, or redistribution industry and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do

Manage purchasing activities for foodservice and commodity products

Develop and maintain strong supplier and vendor relationships

Negotiate pricing, contracts, rebates, and purchasing agreements

Monitor inventory levels and support demand planning initiatives

Analyze market conditions, pricing trends, and supply chain impacts

Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Transportation, and Finance teams to ensure product availability and customer satisfaction

Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards

Review purchasing performance, inventory reports, and forecasting data

Support and mentor junior purchasing team members

Contribute to continuous process improvements and purchasing strategy

What We're Looking For

5+ years of purchasing, procurement, or commodity buying experience within foodservice, food distribution, wholesale food, grocery, protein, produce, frozen foods, or related industries

Strong knowledge of inventory management, forecasting, and supply chain operations

Experience negotiating vendor agreements and managing supplier relationships

Ability to analyze market trends, commodity pricing, and purchasing opportunities

Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/inventory management systems

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Procurement, or related field preferred
