Description

Food Services Assistants provide essential support in the kitchen and dining hall at Flying Horse Farms. They help ensure campers, staff, and volunteers receive safe, nutritious, and delicious meals by completing dishwashing, cleaning, and food preparation tasks. This is an hourly, entry-level position ideal for high school students or individuals seeking seasonal kitchen experience. 


Responsibilities:

  • Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment following all food safety standards 
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen and dining hall areas throughout shifts 
  • Assist with basic food preparation under supervision (washing, chopping, portioning)  
  • Stock supplies and assist with unloading deliveries as directed 
  • Support Food Services staff in meal service to campers and staff 
  • Follow all camp and food safety policies and procedures 
  • Work collaboratively and take direction from Shift Managers and the Food Services Manager 

Requirements

 Required Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

  • Must be at least 16 years of age  
  • Ability to follow directions and work effectively in a team environment 
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn 
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs. 
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and camp sessions 
  • Some food service experience preferred
