Company Description

The mission of The Irvine Ranch Outdoor Education Center is to serve all youth of Orange County by providing quality outdoor educational programs that instill in them an appreciation of the outdoors and the environment, teach effective teamwork, instruct about the cultural history of Orange County and provide access to the natural resources of the surrounding areas.

This 210-acre outdoor education center, owned and operated by the Orange County Council, Boy Scouts of America, is located in Orange, California and accessible through Irvine Regional Park. The Irvine Ranch Outdoor Education Center (IROEC) features half-day through five-day academic and recreational programming. Our hands-on approach to outdoor education allows participants to explore the outdoors while developing creativity, leadership skills and a respect for the environment.

Job Description

Responsible for maintaining the kitchen and dining areas in a clean and orderly condition. Washes, cleans, sanitizes, and stores all dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and other equipment use to operate the kitchen and dining room areas. Clean floors, kitchen mats, floor drains, and other duties as assigned.

  • Wash and store all dishes and equipment in accordance with policy, HACCP guidelines, procedures,  and Orange County Environmental Health Care Agency
  • Provide a high level of customer service and promote a restaurant-style dining atmosphere
  • Work closely with the Food Service Director to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Maintain kitchen in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition at all times
  • Maintain dish room area in a neat, clean, and sanitary manner
  • Keep kitchen floors clean (sweep and mop) and trash emptied
  • Maintain dish machine after each meal, thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing
  • Adhere to cleaning schedules as assigned
  • Assist Food Service Director, cooks, and/or prep cooks, as needed

Part-Time 29 hours or less, per week, based on dining event schedules.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma
  • Food Handlers card or ServSafe certification
  • Candidate will provide proof of legal citizenship or legal residency
  • Candidate must pass the Boy Scouts of America background check
  • Listen, follow directions, works well with others
  • Self-starter and detail oriented
  • Ability to interface with customers in a professional manner
  • Responsible and respectful with company equipment and property
  • Ability to lift up to estimated 35-50 pounds on a regular basis
  • Long periods of standing, sitting, and bending.
