About the Job
 

This position is a 9-month temporary position for one academic year, or one academic semester in teaching. Appointment is initially for one year or one semester but may continue depending on performance and needs.
Hours: Varies based on percentage appointment and credit load, will be determined upon hire but can range between 1 and 40 hours a week.
The appointee will be expected to:

  • Develop and teach courses
  • Advise students with regard to academic concerns and school-related organizations
  • Participate in the decisions relating to the policies, courses and programs in whichthere is involvement
  • Continue personal growth within the profession, keep current with the field and broaden knowledge and expertise
  • Supervise and work closely with graduate and undergraduate teaching assistants in your course as they perform their duties.
Qualifications
 

Qualifications:
Required: 

  • BS in food science, nutrition or closely related field. 
  • Professional experience in working in food science, nutrition or similar. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Preferred: 

  • MS in food science, nutrition or closely related field. 
  • Evidence of ability to work independently and in collaboration with interdisciplinary team members, evidence of effective classroom and laboratory teaching, evidence of undergraduate student mentorship.

Pay and Benefits
 

Pay Range: $68,000 to $77,000 annually; depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment: 1% - 100% Appointment

Position Type: Faculty and P&A Staff
