Among Franciscan Health, our Food Service Associate I assembles, serves, and delivers, food and supplies to patient care areas while following all regulatory standards for food safety. The Food Service Associate I, also, assists with sanitizing areas and cleaning kitchen utensils.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

  • Clean, maintain, and assemble equipment ensuring proper usage.
  • Practice good handwashing and personal hygiene, including wearing clean uniforms, covering hair, and using gloves properly.
  • Prepare, assemble and deliver food and supplies on time and according to lists or tallies, as needed.
  • Record food and refrigeration temperatures accurately, including in kitchens and within units where there are patient refrigerators.
  • Serve food according to food regulatory standards for temperature, in the correct portion and presented in an attractive manner.
  • Store equipment and supplies according to standards.
  • Transport or store food safely, including covering, dating, and labeling foods.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Preferred High School Diploma/GED
  • 1 year Healthcare or Hospitality Preferred
  • 1 year Food Service - Institutional Preferred
  • 1 year Customer Service Preferred
  • Food Handler Certification - ServSafe while working in Illinois required
  • Food Handler Certification - ServSafe while working in Indiana preferred
