Pay Range: $120,000/yr. - $147,000/yr. based on experience and qualifications

Please note that this role requires experience in the food manufacturing industry.

Location - This opportunity will be based in our Norwood, MA, Manufacturing Facility Schedule: Monday-Friday 
We are a 24/7 continuous production facility, and variable hours (weekends) will be required, as needed, to meet business needs

Overview of the Role

The Process Engineering Manager will lead a team dedicated to optimizing production processes, equipment performance, and product consistency within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This role blends technical leadership with hands-on problem-solving to drive innovation, ensure compliance with food safety standards, and deliver measurable improvements in quality, yield, and efficiency. The ideal candidate is a results-driven leader who thrives on continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and develop the Process Engineering team, executing process and equipment improvement projects across all production areas

Drive adoption and utilization of MES and data-driven tools for process monitoring, traceability, and performance analysis

Analyze efficiency data to drive improvements and financial/supply chain planning. Lead strategic downtime review, partner with production to collect accurate data, and drive OEE improvements cross-functionally

Lead continuous improvement efforts cross-functionally. Partner with Finance to provide monthly updates and act as the leader of the cost savings initiatives/process

Oversee the design, development, and implementation of process enhancements to improve product quality, throughput, and cost efficiency, while maintaining strict food safety and sanitation standards

Facilitate project handoff process documentation and workflow to Production and Maintenance to ensure sustained performance

Partner with OEMs to evaluate, modify, and integrate new equipment and technologies into existing production lines

Manage multiple engineering projects, balancing timelines, resources, and priorities across Technicians, Contractors, Maintenance, and Production teams

Promote and sustain Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and optimize operations

Collaborate with Food Safety, QA, Operations, Maintenance, and Supply Chain to ensure all processes meet regulatory (FDA, USDA, SQF, etc.) and customer requirements

Develop and maintain detailed process documentation, SOPs, and equipment standards

Manage vendor and contractor relationships, including obtaining quotes and providing technical recommendations

Perform other duties as assigned to support plant goals and continuous improvement efforts

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent (required)

A minimum of 6+ years of process or industrial engineering experience in food manufacturing, including 5+ years in a leadership or project management role

Proven experience with OEM equipment integration, food safety/sanitary design principles, and hygienic process improvements

Strong analytical, mechanical, and problem-solving skills with a hands-on leadership style

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CAD software, and MES systems (preferred)

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods in a hot, wet, or cold production environment

Flexibility to work weekends or overtime as needed for project installations or line commissioning

Company-provided PPE must be worn on the production floor at all times
