Job description

Warehouse Operations Manager
Location: Riverdale, GA
Salary range: 90K โ€“ 110K (based on education and experience) + 20% bonus potential
A well-established food company is looking for a hands-on Assistant Operations Manager to lead a fast-paced warehouse operation supporting both raw ingredient receiving and finished goods shipping. This is a floor-based leadership role managing a team a small team. The right person earns respect by showing up, working alongside the team, and driving accountability through presence, not from behind a desk.
Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of 15 employees across shipping and receiving operations, including performance management, coaching, and day-to-day accountability
  • Oversee fast-paced receiving, ensuring accurate and timely intake of perishable materials
  • Issue materials to work orders and support production with timely, accurate deliveries from the receiving side
  • Maintain inventory accuracy for perishables and finished goods across dry, cooler, and freezer storage areas
  • Manage truck scheduling and coordination on the shipping side
  • Oversee finished goods inventory and ensure outbound orders are fulfilled accurately and on time
  • Coordinate with customer service on shipping schedules, priorities, and issue resolution
  • Operate the forklift and work on the floor alongside the team as needed
  • Maintain food safety, sanitation, and OSHA compliance standards throughout the warehouse
  • Monitor key metrics and drive continuous improvement across both shipping and receiving functions

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent hands-on warehouse and distribution experience
  • 3+ years of supervisory or management experience in a warehouse or distribution environment
  • Receiving experience is required
  • Food, perishable, or food manufacturing experience preferred; strong candidates from other industries will be considered
  • ERP system and Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint experience preferred
  • Hands-on Forklift experience required, Forklift certified preferred
  • Hands-on leadership style with a track record of earning team respect on the floor
