Market Research Analyst – Dedicated Contract Carrier (Transportation Industry)

Position Summary

The Market Research Analyst will drive strategic growth by analyzing market trends, shipper verticals, and competitive dynamics within the dedicated freight and logistics sector. This role combines deep research capabilities with proactive lead generation to support the business development team in identifying and qualifying new customer opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth research on shipper verticals (e.g., retail, manufacturing, food & beverage) to identify demand patterns and service needs
  • Analyze competitor offerings and market positioning within the dedicated contract carriage space
  • Use AI-powered tools and platforms to generate insights on shipper behavior, industry forecasts, and emerging opportunities
  • Monitor regulatory and macroeconomic factors affecting logistics and transportation
  • Collaborate with sales, operations, and strategy teams to align market intelligence with business development efforts
  • Leverage research findings to identify and contact prospective customers, qualifying leads for the business development team
  • Present findings through visualizations, presentations, and executive summaries tailored to leadership and cross-functional teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Economics, or related field helpful
  • 2–4 years of experience in market research, preferably in transportation or logistics
  • Familiarity with AI research tools, data platforms, and market intelligence software
  • Strong analytical and storytelling skills to translate complex data into strategic insights
  • Experience in lead generation or sales support is a plus
  • Knowledge of TMS and CRM systems is beneficial
