Job description

About Us

At MML Hospitality, our mission is to create some of the world’s most memorable hospitality experiences—where food, design, service, and storytelling come together seamlessly.

Located in the heart of Menlo Park, Clark’s Oyster Bar brings our signature coastal charm to the Bay Area. Known for serving the freshest raw bar, iconic seafood dishes, crisp martinis, and an extensive wine list, Clark’s balances high-touch, refined service with a lively, welcoming neighborhood atmosphere.

The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented, passionate Part-Time Baker to join our back-of-house culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and baking our fresh house-made breads, rolls, and signature pastry/dessert offerings from scratch each day.

The ideal candidate takes pride in precision, consistency, and cleanliness, thriving in a focused morning or early-prep production environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Scratch Baking & Production: Prepare daily batches of house-made sourdough buns, dinner rolls, pies, and dessert components according to MML recipes and quality standards.

  • Prep & Ingredient Management: Scale ingredients accurately, monitor dough proofing/fermentation times, and control oven temperatures for consistent batch quality.

  • Station Organization: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary baking station following all local San Mateo County health department guidelines.

  • Inventory & Waste Control: Monitor ingredient stock levels, rotate dairy and perishable baking goods (FIFO), and minimize ingredient waste.

  • Team Collaboration: Work alongside the Executive Chef, Sous Chefs, and prep team to ensure all baked goods are prepped and ready prior to service pushes.

Candidate Qualifications
  • Experience: 1–2+ years of scratch baking or pastry production experience in a high-volume restaurant, retail bakery, or culinary school background.

  • Precision & Focus: Strong attention to detail regarding measurements, recipe execution, and visual presentation.

  • Schedule Availability: Ability to work early morning shifts, weekends, and holidays as business needs require (typically 2–3 shifts per week).

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy bags of flour or dough tubs (up to 50 lbs), and work near commercial ovens.

  • Food Safety: Valid California Food Handler Card required upon hire.

What We Offer
  • Competitive Hourly Pay: $23.00 – $25.00 / hour

  • Perks & Discounts: Dining and retail discounts across MML Hospitality properties

  • Work-Life Balance: Consistent part-time scheduling options

  • Career Growth: Pathways for advancement within MML’s growing multi-concept culinary network
