Weld Food Bank Job Description
Position Title: Driver, Non-CDL
Reports to: Food Resource and Transportation Manager
Classification: Hourly
Position Summary: Responsible for the pick-up and delivery of products, equipment, and services for Weld Food Bank, including managing backpack deliveries, farms-to-families (F2F) distributions, summer feeding and snack distribution, food drives, and snow removal.

- Continuously seek opportunities to improve food distribution methods in a cost-effective manner.
Food and Equipment Transportation
- Pickup and delivery of products and equipment on a daily basis as directed by the Food Resource and Transportation Manager.
- Submit bills of lading and receiving paperwork (green sheets) for all products transported.
- Submit pre-trip/post-trip vehicle logs daily as required by the Department of Transportation.
- Maintain truck cab and box in a clean and sanitary condition.
- Coordinate the loading and unloading of vehicles with other driving staff and warehouse personnel.
Program Support and Coordination
- Manage and coordinate backpack deliveries to schools and other distribution points.
- Oversee farms-to-families (F2F) distributions, ensuring products are delivered directly to neighbors and families.
- Assist in summer feeding programs and the distribution of snacks to children and families.
- Support and assist in organizing and executing food drives, picking up donations from local businesses, organizations, and community members.
Facility and Safety Duties
- Handle snow removal duties, including clearing sidewalks and shoveling snow around the building; ensuring that areas are safe for staff and visitors, particularly as the first staff member on-site.
Other Duties
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Insurable by Weld Food Bank’s insurance company.
- Valid Colorado State driver’s license.
- Ability to operate a hand truck, pallet jack, forklift, and other mechanized warehouse equipment.
- Good physical condition and able to lift at least 50 pounds repetitively.
- Able to read and comprehend; competence in basic mathematics; write accurately and legibly.
- Supportive of the mission of the WFB and sensitive to the needs of the hungry in our community.
- Some evening and weekend work may be required.
Performance Expectations:
- Product is transported and delivered in compliance with food safety standards.
- Company equipment is operated in a safe manner; equipment is maintained according to cleaning and maintenance schedules.
- Responsibilities are completed with strict adherence to WFB Safety Manual.
- Work area is kept clean and free of hazards.
- Completes daily paperwork and reports accurately.
- Maintains professional relationships with donors and agencies.
- Work cooperatively with WFB staff and volunteers.
- Contribute to the successful operation of all WFB programs and operations.
- Ensure safe and timely completion of snow removal tasks, contributing to a safe working environment.
Additional Qualifications
- Experience in a non-profit or food bank environment is preferred but not required.
