Description
Job Title: Finishing Operator(Machine Operator)
Department: Finishing
Reports To: Production Manager
We are hiring 2nd shift only. Those hours are 3:30pm to 12:00am.
Summary: This position will operate the MBO/Folder finishing line equipment used in the production of direct mail materials. This role will ensure efficient, high-quality output in a fast-paced production environment. This position requires strong technical ability, mechanical aptitude, and attention to detail to support consistent production flow and meet customer deadlines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Set up, adjust, and operate MBO folding machines according to job specifications and production schedules.
  • Perform machine changeovers and adjustments for various paper sizes, folds, and job types.
  • Monitor machine performance and product quality throughout each run, making mechanical or control adjustments as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
  • Complete quality checks to ensure folded materials meet required standards and specifications.
  • Maintain accurate production and maintenance records.
  • Perform routine cleaning and preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Work collaboratively with other production team members to meet daily goals.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.

Requirements
Qualifications/Abilities:
  • Prior experience operating a folder machine or MBO machine preferred
  • Manufacturing equipment or machine operator skills preferred
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Mechanical and technical skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Good time management skills
  • Computer skills/knowledge preferred

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is moderately loud.
