Managing these challenges typically involves maintaining strong communication with loved ones, following a consistent sleep and wellness routine, and taking advantage of on-site support services. Many companies provide resources like counseling, recreational facilities, and peer support programs to help employees balance the demanding schedule and remote lifestyle. Building camaraderie with teammates and planning home time can also make transitions smoother.

This rotation allows companies to operate in distant locations where it would be impractical for workers to live permanently. FIFO roles can include engineers, drillers, geologists, and support staff. Although these jobs can offer high pay and unique experiences, they often involve long hours and extended time away from family.
