The Maintenance Lead is responsible for performing various tasks to aid daily operations at our facility. The duties shall vary by situation and the assigned area within an industrial manufacturing plant, office, and seasonal outdoor environment.

Job Summary/Basic Functions:


Responsible to assist in the supervision of the Facilities / Maintenance Department. Assist Facilities Manager in establishing controls and procedures required to properly maintain building and production related equipment. Assures compliance to all building and safety (OSHA) related codes. Responsible for installation of conduit and wire, motors and related equipment, repair of production machinery, electrical services as needed for electrical and mechanical Facility, HVAC, and Production equipment. A general understanding of electrical design and controls is required. Assures compliance to all building and safety (OSHA) related codes.

Job Knowledge Requirements:


  • Knowledge of current electrical practices, electrical codes, electrical safety and equipment.
  • Installation of conduit, wires, motors, and related equipment.
  • Installation and repair of lighting and fixtures.
  • Machine repair and Installation
  • Work cell design and implementation.
  • Technical knowledge and ability to read blueprints, electrical ladder logic, control schematics and P&ID's.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Ability to work in groups or alone
  • Sprinkler systems and fire pump
  • Completed installation test (Hi-Pot, Point-to-Point, Continuity)
  • Able to use measuring equipment
  • Should be mechanically inclined and willing to assist in mechanical installations.
  • DEC conformance (14001 aspects)

Specific Duties/Essential Functions:


  • Monitor Facilities / Maintenance personnel within company guidelines.
  • Establishes and maintains working procedures.
  • Evaluates, recommends, and maintains the Facilities budget.
  • Supervise and coordinates activities engaged in installing, repairing and maintaining machinery and equipment.
  • Responsible for adhering to the preventative maintenance program.
  • Develops solutions to production, process and facility problems.
  • Measures and reports weekly/monthly/annual departmental performance.
  • Analyzes mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment and plans for and take corrective action.
  • Makes necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.
  • Reviews production schedule and when equipment is not scheduled for manufacturing, performs scheduled maintenance.
  • Tests equipment to check operation. Tests equipment after repairs, changeovers, or extended downtime.
  • Installs electrical control panels, motors, transformers, breaker panels and switches.
  • General setup of VFD's.
  • Must be able to identify engineering errors and report to supervision.
  • Notifies supervisor of recurring malfunctions and corrective action taken and of quality problems or supplies needed.
  • Works in accordance with all company policies.
  • Makes suggestions on design upgrades.

Qualifications/Education/Experience:


  • Two-year electrical degree, Vocational training, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a Facilities / Maintenance capacity
  • A diverse background knowledge in mechanical and electrical assemblies.
  • Minimum of two years of documented electrical work experience which includes installation of conduit, wire, and electrical circuit breakers: troubleshoot, repair and replacement of motors, motor starters, overloads and other power distribution/control equipment.
  • High mental and visual effort are required.
  • Manual dexterity and strength/stamina to perform tasks.
  • Proficient in the use of common hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge of electrical circuits, motor control systems, PLC's, VFD's, electrical ladder diagrams, control system schematics, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Must possess the ability to perform common computer functions.
  • Understanding of quality control principles.
  • Ability to communicate and work well with others
