Job description

Build Your Book of Business - And Your Ownership Stake
Atlanta Flooring Design Centers isn't just another flooring contractor. We're a top 5 national retailer (Floor Covering Weekly), doing over $200 million in sales in 2025, and - since January 2024 - 100% employee-owned. That means every year you're here, you're not just earning commission. You're building real equity in a company that's actively growing, through both acquisition and market share gains, and projected to nearly double in size over the next five to seven years.
We're expanding our Commercial Flooring Sales division and looking for experienced sales professionals who want more than a book of business - who want a stake in what they build.
What You'll Do
  • Develop and manage relationships with general contractors, property owners, architects, and developers across the commercial flooring lifecycle - from healthcare and hospitality to corporate offices, multifamily, education, and government projects
  • Guide clients through product selection, specification, and pricing, backed by our in-house estimating, procurement, and installation teams
  • Manage the full project arc: initial bid through installer coordination, site walk-throughs, and job completion
  • Build a book of business and a pipeline that compounds - with the infrastructure of a $200M+ company behind every deal

What You Bring
  • 5+ years of proven B2B or commercial sales experience - flooring, building materials, construction, or a closely related field
  • Comfort reading blueprints and specs, and navigating GC/bid-cycle relationships
  • A self-starter who can manage relationships independently, backed by a team that handles warehousing, delivery, and installation coordination
  • A long-term mindset - you're looking to build something over the next decade, not just close this quarter's numbers

Why AFDC
  • You own what you build. As an ESOP company, every employee holds a stake in AFDC's growth - equity value on top of your commission, with full vesting in 5 years and a 401K Plan.
  • Real scale, real infrastructure. Over 41 years in business, 17+ locations, 440+ employees, and the operational backbone (procurement, warehousing, installer network) to let you sell instead of scramble.
  • Leadership runway. Our founder has been explicit: AFDC's next chapter is about bringing in the next generation of leaders. As we grow into new markets, we're building sales management leadership roles from within.
  • Uncapped income potential, layered with equity growth in a company on a clear trajectory to double in size.
  • Stability without stagnation. We're not a startup and we're not private equity - we're an established, profitable, growing company that just gave its future back to the people running it.

Where You'll Work
We serve commercial clients across Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Florida, and Tennessee, with design centers in Suwanee, GA; Buford, GA; Chattanooga, TN; and additional locations throughout the Southeast.
BENEFITS:
  • Eligible to participate in Group Health, Dental & Vision Insurance Plan after 60 days full-time employment
  • Retirement Plans: Employee Stock Ownership Plan and 401(K) with match
  • Supplemental life, accident, cancer and short-term disability insurance available after 60 days of full-time employment

  • Effective selling and closing skills
  • Experience in the flooring industry highly preferred
  • Must have prior sales experience in flooring
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Self-motivated team player with strong work ethic
  • Some sales experience preferred; B2B experience a plus
  • Willing and able to learn new products and trade knowledge
