Job description

Cherry Carpet and Flooring is currently seeking a full-time Residential Flooring Sales Consultant/Project Manager to join our team. We are located in Portsmouth VA and have provided flooring solutions for our community for over 79 years. We focus on collaborative support for our clients, our community, and staff. We have excellent benefits, a positive work environment, and a great team.

Role Responsibilities

  • Suggest flooring solutions for clients that meet their project's performance, value and aesthetic needs.
  • Engage with customers to determine their flooring product preferences, their project goals and desired budget.
  • Use our estimating software to create and analyze floor plans and proposals.
  • Utilize understanding of product specifications and performance attributes to successfully guide customers to the appropriate flooring selections.
  • Prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Must have Driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to and from work.
  • Use a company vehicle and drive to client residences/project sites to measure for new flooring.
  • Collaborate with your team to utilize tools and resources to meet customer needs.

Role Qualifications

  • Excellent customer service skills and a positive personality are a must.
  • Must be comfortable with client engagement with ability to build and retain customer relationships.
  • Must have strong communication skills (oral and written), basic math skills, analytical skills, and ability to multitask.
  • Retail sales experience is a plus.
  • Role requires working M – F (8-5 Mon, Tues, Fri and 9-6 Tues, Thurs). Occasional Saturday work with clients may be needed, by appointment only.
