Locations: Shoreham to Seldon NY
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Floating Pharmacist to join our team at Quality Pharmacy and Shoreham Drugs! As a Floating Pharmacist, you will be receiving incoming prescriptions, reviewing them for accuracy, and filling them with the correct medicine and dose. You will also be talking with customers to help them understand their medications and possible side effects, advising them on medication storage, and maintaining a safe, clean work environment. The ideal Pharmacist candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and is familiar with pharmaceutical best practices. This position requires as needed travel between Quality Pharmacy, located in Seldon NY and Shoreham Drugs located in Shoreham NY. (approximately 12 miles apart)
Responsibilities
  • Read and review incoming prescriptions for accuracy, suitability to patient, and potential interactions
  • Provide information to patients on side effects, dosage, specific storage needs, and interactions with other medications
  • Maintain excellent patient records and pharmacy files
  • Conduct regular inventory and maintain proper standards for accepting new inventory and categorizing it appropriately
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment
  • Provide coverage at multiple locations as needed
Qualifications
  • Must hold a current state pharmacist license (RPh)
  • MUST have Immunization License
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to multitask and shift priorities, as needed
