Job description

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Medical Office Floater to join our busy medical practice team. This position is NOT entry level. We are specifically seeking someone with experience in BOTH Front Desk and Medical Assistant duties including Phlebotomy who can comfortably assist wherever needed throughout the office.

Responsibilities

  • Previous medical office experience REQUIRED
  • Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and facilitate smooth check-in and check-out processes
  • Schedule appointments efficiently while managing multi-line phone system and maintaining an organized front desk area
  • Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance authorization and Medicare billing procedures, including medical collection efforts
  • Maintain meticulous medical records using Electronic Health Record (EHR) system (AdvancedMD knowledge is a plus), ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Support administrative duties like data entry using Microsoft Office tools, managing office supplies, and handling patient inquiries with excellent phone etiquette

  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10), CPT coding, and medical billing procedures
  • Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and the ability to handle multi-line phone systems effectively
  • Prior medical office experience is mandatory in both Front Desk and Medical Assistant Assistant responsibilities including rooming patients including vital signs
  • Must be able to draw blood
  • Must be reliable, organized, and team-oriented
  • Must be comfortable floating between clinical and administrative tasks as needed
