Salary: $28.50-$34.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 hours per week, at least one day out of every weekend.

Job Description:

LSG Sky Chefs is seeking a dedicated and skilled Building Operator/Maintenance Technician to join our team at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of our facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in commercial facility maintenance and be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and refrigeration/ice machine systems.
  • Conduct inspections of facility equipment and systems to identify and address issues proactively.
  • Operate and maintain boilers, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and operational standards.
  • Troubleshoot and repair various mechanical and electrical systems as needed.
  • Assist in carpentry projects, including repairs, installations, and renovations.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance staff and departments to ensure facility operations run smoothly.
  • Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner, prioritizing urgent issues.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Must have Boilers experience and valid Boilers License or ability to obtain within one year.
  • Proven experience in commercial facility maintenance.
  • Proficient in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems; knowledge of refrigeration is a plus.
  • Must own a set of basic tools required for maintenance tasks (required).
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical tasks including standing, sitting, kneeling, and climbing ladders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Shift Availability:

  • Day Shift (required)
  • Evening Shift (required)
  • 8 or 10-Hour Shifts (required) 
  • 1 day out of every weekend (required)
  • Holidays required as scheduled

Open availability is essential due to seniority-based shift bids that occur 2–3 times per year, as schedules are assigned based on tenure and availability during these periods.
