Compensation Details

  • The starting annual salary for this position is betweenย $75,000.00ย andย $95,000.00ย based on your prior work experience.
  • When you work on a Contour observed holiday, you are eligible to receive holiday pay which is paid at 2 times your hourly rate. Specific information regarding Contourโ€™s observed holiday policy is outlined in our Employee Handbook which will be provided to you during the onboarding process should you be selected for employment.

Summary of Essential Duties

The Maintenance Controller is responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient maintenance operation of the airlineโ€™s fleet. This role provides real-time technical oversight and direction to maintenance personnel, monitors aircraft status, and coordinates maintenance support to minimize operational disruptions while ensuring regulatory compliance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clear information affecting maintenance status, action plans, return to service estimates, and other technical information as required to Contour Flight Operations, Management and Maintenance Department personnel
  • Communicate directly with flight crew members when operational discrepancies are discovered, and obtain all necessary information needed by technicians to perform prompt and effective repairs.
  • Utilize maintenance tracking computer systems and accomplish the planning, scheduling, and logistics to complete all scheduled maintenance activities within the requirements of the aircraft inspection programs.
  • Update Computerized Maintenance Tracking Program with verified compliance information using audited return to service documentation.
  • Update Flight Operations Software (FOS) in real time, indicating aircraft fleet maintenance status.
  • Responsible for ensuring that mechanical delays are handled in a safe and expeditious manner and in accordance with the General Maintenance Manual (GMM).
  • Maintenance Controller will coordinate with Flight Operations, Maintenance and Purchasing, as required, to expedite aircraft return to service.
  • Control and tracking of all deferred maintenance items (DMI)
  • Ensure all parts needed to clear DMIs are ordered per procedures
  • Authorize deferred maintenance items (DMI), (MEL, CDL, and MCI).
  • Ensure all deferrals are accomplished in accordance with company manuals and FARs.
  • Responsible for completing and distributing all applicable forms and documents in accordance with procedures set forth in company General Maintenance Manual
  • Provide tracking of parts and equipment while they are in transit to an aircraft on ground (AOG) aircraft.
  • Provides point of contact and control for maintenance performed on Company aircraft away from main maintenance base by company personnel or contract maintenance.
  • Monitors and schedules short term inspections andย Airworthiness Directives (AD). (Short term is defined as seven (7) days or less and/or 100 Flight Hours or less.)ย 
  • Obtain required approvals and completion of Ferry Flight Authorization Forms.
  • Coordinates scheduled and unscheduled maintenance performed on company aircraft
  • Other duties as assigned by the leadership
  • Must be at least 23 years of age.
  • Airframe and Powerplant license required.
  • Completion of formal aircraft maintenance training for large turbine powered airplanes
  • Minimum of seven (7)ย years of experience as an aircraft mechanic and/or inspector for large, multi-engine jet aircraft
  • Minimum of five (5) years of maintenance experience on the Bombardier Canadair Regional Jet 200 fleet type, the Embraer 135 ER/LR, the Embraer 145 LR, or the Embraer Legacy 600.
  • Experience in airline day-to-day maintenance operations preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.ย ย 
  • Excellent working knowledge of aircraft systems, components, and methods
  • Understands OEM technical data manuals, and how to quickly obtain needed information and procedures
  • Must have experience and be highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, inventory software, and tracking systems.
  • Able to pass a required 10-year work history review and submit to criminal background and fingerprint checks.
  • Must pass a DOT required pre-employment drug screen and willing to submit to and pass FAA and Company mandated random drug and alcohol tests.
  • Authorized by law to work in the United States and able to travel in and out of the United States.
  • Must have a valid driver license and a good driving record.
  • Possess polished and professional interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and a customer-oriented mindset.
  • Possess strong leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Must have well-developed people skills and the ability to work with a variety of personalities.
