Job description

Evans & Dixon is currently seeking to add an experienced Illinois Worker's Compensation attorney in our Chicago and Joliet offices. We are seeking an attorney with 3 to 5+ years of experience to join our growing Worker's Compensation practice; you will have the opportunity to work with and be mentored by highly experienced Workers' Compensation Attorneys. You will learn different aspects of workers' compensation, perform substantive legal research, hone medical knowledge to assist in litigation, appear for pre-trials, case management conferences, and work towards building your own case load. You will have paid on the job training in handling a case, case management, courtroom appearances, and even arbitration hearings and appeals within the Court system. Successful candidates will have a durable work ethic, superior ability to multitask, and enjoy working in a collaborative environment. An ideal candidate will be someone committed to working hard toward building a career and becoming part of our multistate 110+ attorney firm while embracing our small office mentality of congeniality among colleagues.What we're looking for:Three to five plus years of experience in the legal fieldBasic and/or working knowledge of Worker's Compensation law and hearingsStrong analytical, communication and people skillsAbility to multitask, prioritize and juggle multiple deadlinesExcellent negotiation, written and oral communication skillsEducation and Qualifications:A law degree from an ABA accredited law schoolActively licensed in Illinois or Indiana, or the ability to become licensed to practice in Illinois or IndianaAbout Us:Evans & Dixon provides Midwest business clients with sophisticated legal advice, responsive communications and hands-on industry knowledge.
