Summary/Objective: The Plating Laboratory Technician is responsible for the monitoring, maintenance, and control of all plating baths (GCT plating baths are included).  Other laboratory projects and analyses may be necessary, as defined by the lab supervisor.   

Essential Functions/ Responsibilities:

  1. Work with integrity in a team environment to support Electroplating Production and GCT Production.
  2. Perform various analysis procedures to monitor the plating and GCT baths, and water treatment systems in accordance with written procedures.
  3. Maintain the Plating baths by making bath additions and performing necessary bath changes promptly, based on tests performed or guidance from a supervisor.
  4. Perform post-plating analysis: Ionic contamination analysis, porosity analysis, and gold usage analysis.
  5. Work on various plating projects, including the maintenance and calibration of lab equipment.
  6. Troubleshoot line problems and analytical equipment issues. 
  7. Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  8. The responsibilities as defined are intended to serve as a general guideline for this position. Associates may be asked to perform additional tasks depending on strengths and capabilities.

Requirements:

  1. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, lift, and walk on a continual basis. Must be able to work with heavy drums of chemicals with a drum dolly.
  2. Hazards and Atmospheric Conditions: Must be willing to adhere to all department safety rules and regulations in a chemical environment.
  3. High school diploma or GED
  4. Must be a self-starter with strong teamwork skills and have a high attention to detail.
  5. Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
  6. Strong analytical skills, excellent communication skills (verbal and written), proficiency with system applications, a high level of analytical aptitude, and problem-solving skills are required.

Preferred Experience and Education:

  1. 2-Year or 4-year degree in Chemistry, Engineering, and/or a Technical or Science-related Degree
  2. Experience working in a chemical laboratory.
  3. Experience in the operation and maintenance of analytical equipment.
  4. Electroplating experience
