ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Lab Technician will support research and development activities for new roofing and commercial building envelope products and systems at the Amrize Building Envelope Global Technology Center in Fishers, IN. This role is responsible for preparing samples, conducting destructive and non-destructive laboratory testing, operating a variety of lab equipment and power tools, documenting results, and preparing clear test reports. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, collaborative, and able to manage multiple testing priorities while supporting product innovation and continuous improvement.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Lab Sample Management: Handling test samples, such as receiving, labeling, logging to the system, and storing samples.
  • Testing & Analysis: Sample preparation and perform routine testing in accordance with SOPs and standardized test protocols.
  • Develop new test methods and/or support specialized application development testing.
  • Data Documentation: Record testing data and enter results accurately into reports.
  • Maintain data records for quick access by the team.
  • Quality control: Calibrate test equipment, troubleshoot, and report out-of-spec equipment.
  • Time Management: Manage time by prioritizing work for efficiency.
  • Communication: Share and communicate the test data with R&D colleagues and external partners.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned by the Manager.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Education: A Bachelor of Science degree.

Field of Study Preferred: Science, or a related field

Required Work Experience: Three years of lab testing experience

Travel Requirements: NA

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize-approved Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to respirators. Employees who are required to wear respirators must be clean-shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
