What we're looking for...
We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Junior Software Asset Management to join our growing SAM team. In this role, you will support the day-to-day administration, tracking, and optimization of our software estate.
What you'll be doing...
You will gain hands-on experience working with industry-leading tooling (Flexera), assist with data preparation for large publisher contract renewals, and help compile evidence for audit defense. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring SAM professional to develop their career, working closely with Procurement and various business entities to identify cost-saving opportunities and drive operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
  • Flexera Data Maintenance: Support the administration of Flexera. Assist in importing licensing entitlements, updating software inventories, and ensuring data integrity within the asset management platform.
  • Procurement Support: Assist Senior SAM and Global Procurement teams in preparing for contract renewals with large publishers (e.g., Microsoft, Adobe, Salesforce). Help gather usage statistics and deployment data to identify underutilized licenses.
  • Audit Defense Assistance:Support the audit mitigation process by collecting required deployment data, organizing proof-of-purchase records, and maintaining audit documentation folders.
  • Business Unit Engagement: Actively follow up with various business entities and technical teams to ensure they execute assigned optimization tasks (e.g., reclaiming unused software, uninstalling unauthorized applications, and reallocating licenses).
  • Reporting & Analysis:Generate routine software compliance and optimization reports. Help identify variances between software installations and purchased entitlements to highlight potential financial risks or savings.

***This role can be located in any US based Verizon hub location.***
You'll need to have:
  • Bachelor's degree or one or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.
  • Experience with software and infrastructure
  • Experience procurement or asset management

Even better if you have one or more of the following:
  • Experience in software contracts and licensing metrics.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Experience in coordinating with cross functional teams from legal, sourcing and business units.
  • Strong quantitative skills.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting legal documents such as contracts, amendments, etc.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, team-oriented, collaborative work environment.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Critical thinking skills with the ability to execute on details.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $72,000.00 - $117,000.00.
