Tanium Security Engineer - 12+ Month Contract (Charlotte, NC - Hybrid, 4 Days Onsite)
About the Role
Are you an experienced security engineer passionate about endpoint protection and cyber resilience? Join our team as a Tanium Security Engineer and play a pivotal role in a high-impact security initiative within a secure, enterprise-class infrastructure. This hybrid position in Charlotte, NC, offers the opportunity to lead the end-to-end deployment, optimization, and ongoing management of Tanium across critical endpoints and data center environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of Tanium, ensuring seamless deployment and integration across hundreds of endpoints and server racks
- Configure and manage Tanium modules including Patch, Deploy, Threat Response, and Comply to bolster organizational security and compliance
- Drive vulnerability remediation and patch management efforts to minimize risks and maintain operational resilience
- Monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents using Tanium and other enterprise security tools
- Develop automation scripts (PowerShell, Python) to enhance efficiency and standardize security processes
- Manage endpoint configurations and enforce compliance with internal security policies within an air-gapped (offline) environment
- Collaborate closely with a small security engineering team to secure critical data center infrastructure
- Support privileged access management initiatives using tools such as CyberArk
- Assist in maintaining business continuity and disaster recovery readiness
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum 5 years in security engineering or cybersecurity roles, with a strong endpoint security focus
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on Tanium experience, including Patch, Deploy, Comply, and Threat Response modules
- Proven success implementing and managing Tanium in enterprise or high-security/air-gapped environments
- Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Python) for automation and system management
- Experience with vulnerability management, patching, and privileged access tools such as CyberArk
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Availability to work onsite in Charlotte, NC from day one
